will be an exciting adventure into the world of animation. Techniques are
introduced which will quickly and easily provide an understanding of the
original, basic principles of hand-drawn animation. Simple kinetic devices will
be constructed to detail the phenomenon of the "Persistence of Vision"*.
Demonstrating this concept, students will learn to make an animation cell as
well as how to draw or construct early motion-picture devices such as the
thaumatrope, phenakistoscope, and a flicker book. This class will give great
satisfaction in learning and lots of fun. Students will be able to bring home
finished projects that they will surely want to show the whole family how to
make! *This is the inability of the eye to perceive separate images; combining them
into one, moving picture

Yu-gi-oh, Evangelion, and Guddami Wing! They will learn to use pen & ink,
colored inks, and markers to create their favorite colorful characters. They

their drawings. Students will learn to draw Anime cartoon characters, which
will WOW their friends with new found skills and techniques. Students will not
only go away from this workshop with impressive drawings, but they will be able
to show others how they did it! What better summer company than to spend it
with favorite Anime friends!

Students learn to evoke humor through exaggeration by using easily learned
methods to draw favorite cartoon friends, as well as to develop their own
imaginative characters. They learn to use shapes, line and color to create a
fun and whacky world, and learn to draw their favorite super heroes. Students
will be taught to draw the human form using proper proportions of anatomy. They
will create many drawings from reference materials to gain as much experience as
possible. This workshop is not only lots of fun, and very creative, but will
give students lasting skills they can use to entertain themselves on their own.

Create a free standing sculpture of today's popular cartoons! Students
will learn to draw current cartoon figures, as well as learn to paint with
acrylics to bring color and life to figures. Once the cartoon figures are drawn
and painted, students will be taught how to create those same cartoons to stand
in a painted environment of their own making. Step-by-step they will see a
two-dimensional cartoon painting turn into a 3-dimensional scene. Stand them
around the house and watch friends clamor to be taught how to make
these! Finished, standing cartoons will be bright & colorful decorations
for the bedroom, office, or just to greet you on a shelf or counter in your
home.
